2015 Fantasy Baseball Rankings & Projections
Starting Pitchers #55 - #58
55. Chris Tillman Orioles
Record - 15-7
ERA - 3.45
WHIP - 1.20
K - 158
Saves - 0
Back-to-back 200+ IP seasons with a 29-13 record in that time, Tillman doesn't have the makeup of a true ace but he does offer consistency and the chance to be a sleeper this year.
56. Dallas Keuchel Astros
Record - 13-8
ERA - 3.14
WHIP - 1.16
K - 153
Saves - 0
Keuchel's 2014 numbers are a little bit more sustainable than his teammate Collin McHugh. Last year Keuchel had a .295 BABIP, 75.5% left on base rate and a 9.0% swing and miss rate.
57. Carlos Carrasco Indians
Record - 11-10
ERA - 3.91
WHIP - 1.15
K - 204
Saves - 0
Since joining the rotation on August 10th, Carrasco allowed one run or less in eight of ten starts. In the other two starts he allowed two and four runs against the Royals and Tigers respectively.
It's difficult to project someone like Carlos who has been a starter in the Bigs for a whopping month and a half but I do think he'll make at least 25 starts in 2015. He has immense potential as a strikeout Pitcher that has good, not great, control. He struck out 54 batters and walked just eight in six September starts.
I love Carrasco as a flyer pick this year to help round out your Fantasy rotation.
58. Derek Holland Rangers
Record - 10-10
ERA - 3.79
WHIP - 1.23
K - 172
Saves - 0
If you've never been afraid to take a guy off a major injury, then make sure you scoop Holland up late in your Fantasy drafts. Holland came back and pitched in six games for the Rangers and was one of only a few bright spots for the club in 2014. Holland posted a 2-0 record, 1.05 WHIP, 1.46 ERA, .296 BABIP and a 25K:5BB ratio.
My Holland projections are based on him making 28 starts for the club in 2015.
