So just because I haven't been writing doesn't mean I haven't been paying attention to the world of sports. The trade deadline was crazy and the whole Derek Fisher thing saddens me. Getting back to my old tricks now I will recap whats gone down and then give you guys (and one female reader) some tips and trends and my personal advice on everything.

Recapping the Trade Deadline:
  • Ramon Sessions now a Laker (as I predicted several weeks ago) trending upwards, go grab him if you need help at the point. Steve Blake will start for a bit as he knows the offense better right now but Sessions will be in the lineup soon.
  • Stephen Jackson to the Spurs. Its a weird fit but all he has to do is keep his mouth shut and let the veterans down there tell him what to do. Monitor his minutes, he shouldn't be owned in standard leagues but in deeper formats keep an eye on him. 5 points in his 17 minute debut for the Spurs.
  • Nick Young to the Clippers. Fixes the SG problem left by Chauncy Billups freak injury. I like the move a lot. Not quite 100% owned but give him a look as Foye isn't the better player for that team.
  • Gerald Wallace to the Nets. Not Dwight Howard but a nice piece for Deron Williams. I like the move. A top 40 fantasy pick now with a top 5 PG.... YA IM IN!!!
  • Nene to the Wizards is not what he had in mind when the Nuggets signed him to a 5 year deal this off season but its not so bad. Playing with a young floor general, John Wall, may make things alright in Nene's world. Still a 13/8 guy even in Washington. He should debut this Wednesday.
  • Richard Jefferson to Golden State. His debut was interesting to say the least. 2-14 FG and 1-7 from downtown and he got 38 minutes off the bench. Hey if he gets those minutes with that broke shot imagine how long he'll be out there when he hits 40%.
  • There was some other moves but you'll have to turn in to the podcast to here my take (and Mike's views) on those.
Injuries:
  • Ricky Rubio MIN PG, out for season, ACL torn and is set to have surgery. Not sure if he'll be ready for opening day next year yet.
  • Kyle Lowry HOU PG will miss 1-3 weeks with a bacterial infection. Goran Dragic benefits most from this whole deal, give him a look.
  • Stephen Curry GS PG may miss the rest of the season with an ankle problem. I'm serious it's another ankle injury. A frustrating season for his owners just got a lot worse. I promise next year he wont be a top 20 pick. He will now be known for his ankle issues.
  • Brook Lopez NJ C should be out roughly another week at least. Keep an eye on the 7 footer.
  • Derrick Rose may miss Monday's game as well. Same injury as before just be patient with him he is still a fantasy monster.
  • Shawn Marion DAL SF Knee issue is a game time decision for the next few days.
Trends:
  • Dorell Wright GS SG is heating up again, a top 50 preseason pick worth a look on your team.
  • Mike Dunleavy MIL SF shooting 47% this year has over 20 points 3 times in his past 5 games.
  • Klay Thompson GS SG has double digit scoring in his past 8 games and offers contributions in most other categories albeit small contributions. He is one of fantasy's most trendy pick ups right now.
  • Mario Chalmers MIA PG has been up and down all year and is once again trending down. Cut him and pick him up in 12 days when he heats up again.
  • Zach Randolph MEM PF is back and in a big way (like I predicted) he is a double double machine and I hope you listened to me and picked him up. He looks good.
