Bullpen Backpack's 2nd Half Preview

The second half begins today and this week took forever. I lived on the trade rumor sites, and battled with tweeps begging for the delivery of Carlos Quentin to my beloved Sons of Geronimo (God Bless you, Harry Doyle.). Funny how no fantasy players were vocalizing similar clamors. Nevertheless, I stashed Quentin’s non-producing butt in case he gets traded to a team in the Major Leagues.

I also watched the HR Derby three times. Okay. Four times. Trumbo is a beast. Fielder is a blob and that is why he went beyond the first round in many drafts. Btw, being called fat in the American League confirms that you are fat. Period.

Watching LaHair and Altuve in the All-Star festivities made me question my quick trigger finger. But only for like three seconds. I mean three days. I mean whatever. Back-to-back-to-back losses in an H2H points leagues can make an owner hate a big leaguer. Okay. Hate is a strong term. And Altuve is just so little and awesome and cartoony and Spud Webby that I don’t think I could ever truly be unhappy with him. He raked for me for a few weeks anyway.

And plus I have Kipnis.

I was going to spend a paragraph about cleat chasers and how much they love Kipnis and how you would be smart to love him too so that they will in turn love you, but I can’t figure out where to go after that, so I will not.

I will instead finish on the short weekend ahead of us. As of this morning, I have set just one lineup for the shortened schedule. I only have three starters with starts in that league and they are all on the road. Ubaldo at Toronto, Hammel at Detroit, and J Mac at the Twins.

Things might get crazy. But I went 3-1 in Scoresheet yesterday. And imHo if you can do well there, you can do well anywhere. Plus, I am basically basking in the glory of my beisbol mastery of late.

Here is my prediction: I am going to kick butt and win every league every week for the rest of the summer. I can feel it in my bones. Which is exactly why you should trade me your Bautista for my Bonifacio and Berkman.

Good Managings,

This is the best thing that has ever appeared on this site and at least seven other sites and maybe two more after that. Keep up the masterworks, Mr. Backpack.

I never knew that I possessed the ability to blush before this moment.
