Late June Power Rankings

1. New York Yankees
The Bronx Bombers have won 9 straight and 19 of their last 23. They lead all of baseball with 99 home runs.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers
If the pitching staff can hold up until Kemp gets back, look out.

3. Washington Nationals
Dare I say the best rotation in all of baseball?

4. Texas Rangers
Yu Darvish concerns me in the summer heat but the hitting is too good to have them outside the top 5.

5. Cincinnati Reds
If Jay Bruce continues at his current pace he'll hit 38 long balls this year.

6. Baltimore Orioles
I'm still skeptical, but a 39-27 record on June 18th is good for 2nd in the AL East.

7. Tampa Bay Rays
There are only two teams in all of baseball with at least 50 steals and 65 home runs, the Rangers and the Rays.

8. Los Angeles Angels
Pujols, C.J. Wilson and Mike Trout have all hit their stride. The Halos look good winning 7 of their last 10.

9. San Francisco Giants
There are major question marks surrounding Lincecum.
Picture
Adam Jones has put up MVP caliber numbers this year with a .311 average and 18 home runs.
10. Atlanta Braves
With Brandon Beachy hitting the DL the Braves have a long road ahead of them going to Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park this week doesn't help.

11. Chicago White Sox
They will be buyers come trade deadline.

12. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Buccos have the 7th best record in the National League. They are 19-11 at home this year.

13. St. Louis Cardinals
Ever since the Mets shut them down in their weekend series to start June, the Cards have looked average.

14. Boston Red Sox
Maybe the return of Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury will rejuvenate the slumping Adrian Gonzalez.

15. Cleveland Indians
The Tribe have lost 7 of their last 10 but still post a 33-32 record.

16. Toronto Blue Jays
Brandon Morrow, Kyle Drabek and Drew Hutchinson have all hit the DL. All eyes are on you Ricky Romero.

17. New York Mets
The Mets need to lock up David Wright long term or trade him now, while his value is at its highest.

18. Detroit Tigers
They are 17-17 on the road and 15-17 at home.

19. Miami Marlins
A -47 run differential doesn't make a lot of sense when your team leads the Majors with 45 Quality Starts.

20. Arizona Diamondbacks
The D-Backs success will be based on whether or not Justin Upton can turn things around.

21. Milwaukee Brewers
Braun looks great, Gallardo does not.
22. Oakland Athletics
I like the youth and prospects, but the current MLB roster looks like the Yankees cut list.

23. Philadelphia Phillies
Injuries and a winless Cliff Lee have the Phillies 6 games under .500.

24. Kansas City Royals
The Melky Cabrera, Jonathan Sanchez deal doesn't look so good now.

25. Minnesota Twins
Willingham and Plouffe have been crushing, it's too bad the team has the 2nd highest ERA in baseball.

26. Colorado Rockies
Just below the Twins is the Rockies with a tee ball-like 5.35 earned run average.

27. Houston Astros
Keep an eye on Brett Myers come late July.
Picture
Its been a rough season for the Phillies
28. Seattle Mariners
If King Felix doesn't get on track soon the M's may be stuck here for the rest of the season.

29. Chicago Cubs
Once they get out from under the Soriano contract things will turn around.

30. San Diego Padres
The 2nd worse run differential in baseball (-73), the 2nd worse record in baseball (24-43) and no Kyle Blanks have the Fryers in last.
