Late Sunday night I was able to get in a short conversation with Diamondbacks pitcher Daniel Hudson on twitter. I saw that he was responding to some fans so I figured I would join in on the fun. I normally don't expect Twitter responses from sports stars but I have been fairly lucky these past two weeks (Stephania Bell replied to a message of mine and Scott Van Pelt read one of my Tweets on ESPN radio). The message Hudson sent me was clear, "Tell your readers/listeners to lighten up on us when we have an off game! Not the end of the world!" I completely agree with the young right hander. Hudson is 2-1 this year with a very unlucky 6.06 ERA and 1.53 WHIP. I say "unlucky" because he currently posts a BABIP of .333 which is well above the league average. Hudson has begun throwing a cut fastball this year, which may be bothering him right now, but once he masters his control he'll be a top of the rotation guy again.

The Diamondbacks got off to a slow start this year and it didn't help when the injury bug took away one of their best hitters after the first week of the season (Chris Young). Hudson himself landed on the DL in mid April and missed over a month of action. Daniel was hit around in his last start by the A's but I still think he will be a top 25 fantasy starter at season's end. I'm not just saying this because he answered me on Twitter, I'm saying this because I was a believer in the team before the season began

It's now June 11th, the team is 30-30 and currently sits in 3rd place in the NL West. I just want to reiterate what @DHuddy41 was saying on Twitter, one game is not the end of the world. The D-Backs have won 5 in a row despite Huddy's poor outing in his last start. Arizona is a fun team to watch and with young, emerging stars like Justin Upton, Ian Kennedy, Daniel Hudson, Chris Young, Miguel Montero and Paul Goldschmidt, they're one of my dark horse teams to make a deep playoff run. I urge you all to cheer on the Diamondbacks as they look to make a run this summer at first place in the National League's Western Division.

Here is the whole Twitter conversation between @Awies28 and @DHuddy41
